By Daphne Clarance: Finally, after six years, Rihanna teased her fans with some new music. The hip-hop star is back with Lift Me Up, a heartwarming slow ballad to feature in the forthcoming MCU film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
On Friday, Rihanna shared a glimpse of Lift Me Up that shows her in a white rustic room dressed in a nightgown as two kids lead her into a dark room that has a blue glowing table where she eventually transforms into a queen.
On October 26, Rihanna posted a promo of the song which only flashed the letter 'R' on the screen as the date of the song's release appeared in metallic gold.
The slow-tempo track is supposed to be Rihanna's tribute to late star Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020. He had starred in the first film, Black Panther, and was supposed to reprise in the second installment. Wakanda Forever will release on November 11, 2022.
The promo shot featured a snippet of the film that soon switches to Rihanna standing on the beach, then fading to black with "Lift Me Up" written across the screen.
